Recently, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (“W88优德手机版”) announced its new panel of arbitrators. JunHe’s partners BAI, Tao, LIU, Dali (David), LIU, Ge,WU, Lei, ZHANG, Liping (Nancy), ZHANG, Ping, ZHENG, Yanli (Leanne)andZHOU, Xianfeng (Elvis) (Note: in alphabetical order according to the names’ pinyin sequence) were appointed to W88优德手机版’s new team of arbitrators.
W88优德手机版 is one of the major permanent commercial arbitration institutions in the world for settling economic and trade disputes independently and fairly through arbitration. For more than fifty years, W88优德手机版 has contributed to the formulation of the Arbitration Law of China and the development of China’s arbitration undertakings through its arbitration practice and theoretical activities, and has enjoyed a positive reputation, both home and abroad. W88优德手机版 implemented open elections and a pre-employment training appraisal mechanism for its arbitrators, taking in to consideration the applicants’ professional competence, social influence and case-handling needs. Following a review by the Accreditation Examination Committee and Director Meeting of W88优德手机版, and after a submission to the China Chamber of Commerce for the record, the new panel of arbitrators was ultimately determined.
Ms.BAI, Tao is based in W88优德手机版’s Beijing office. In her several decades of practice, Ms. Bai has provided comprehensive legal services to many international clients from the US, Japan and Europe, including multinational corporations and international organizations, as well as large enterprises and trade organizations in China. She specializes in the fields of IP protection, anti-dumping, M&A, project financing, IPOs, international litigation and arbitration. Ms. Bai serves clients in industries such as manufacturing, transportation, communications, finance, entertainment and real estate.
Mr.LIU, Dali (David) began legal practice in 1989, and his areas of specialty include Banking and Finance and M&A. He has actively represented a number of international and domestic financial institutions and has been involved in the structuring, negotiating, preparing of documents and issuance of legal opinions in many financial projects, including in the industries of petrochemicals, microchips, automobiles, steel, power plants, water and toll roads. In recent years, Mr. Liu has also been involved in a large number of transactions concerning financial institutions. He has represented multinational corporations on their entry into China’s market and advises on mergers and acquisitions; he also represents Chinese companies on their outbound investments and M&A. Mr. Liu also serves as the director of the Board of Directors of the Singapore International Arbitration Center, an arbitrator of the Shanghai Arbitration Commission, the Shenzhen International Arbitration Center and the Arbitration Center Across the Straits (ACAS).
Mr. LIU, Ge joined JunHe in June 1997. Since then, he has represented a large number of multinational corporations regarding their legal affairs in China. His scope of business includes matters of direct outbound and inbound investment, M&A and general corporate affairs, Sino-foreign equity joint ventures/contractual joint ventures and wholly foreign-owned enterprises. He has also been involved in a large number of compliance matters for foreign investment enterprises and large and difficult legal disputes. In the past decade, Mr. Liu has trialed over 100 cases as the chief arbitrator at W88优德手机版 and served as a member for W88优德手机版’s Expert Committee and studied and issued expert opinions on major and difficult cases during the arbitration. Mr. Liu is also the arbitrator of SCIA, the Tianjin Arbitration Commission (TAC) and the Qingdao Arbitration Commission (QAC).
Mr.WU, Lei joined W88优德手机版 in March 2007, and is based in W88优德手机版’s Shanghai office. Mr. Wu specializes in litigation and arbitration. He is particularly experienced in assisting clients in dealing with all aspects of complicated commercial disputes. Mr. Wu also practiced as an attorney at law for many large multinational corporations in China in criminal cases allegedly involving inter alia as well as investigations in to corporate senior officers. Mr. Wu has vast experience in compliance investigation practices, and his clients include financial institutions, state-owned corporations, non-state owned enterprises, Sino-foreign equity joint ventures, Sino-foreign contractual joint ventures and WOFEs.
ZHANG, Liping (Nancy) is a partner at W88优德手机版’s Beijing office. She is dedicated to providing diversified services in M & A, real estate, construction projects and assets securitization. She has substantial experience in counseling offshore clients in mergers and acquisitions and real estate investments. Ms. Zhang has been named an outstanding attorney by Chambers & Partners for seven consecutive years from 2011, and in 2017 was named by Who’s Who Legal in their outstanding lawyers in M&A and corporate governance. She was named by Who’s Who Legal in their outstanding real estate lawyers in 2015, 2016 and 2017. She was also recommended by China Law & Practice as the leading attorney in real estate and construction engineering in 2015, and was named as one of the “Top Fifteen female attorneys in China” by Asian Legal Business in 2012.
Mr. ZHANG, Ping started his practice in 1996 and joined JunHe in July 2011. Prior to joining JunHe, Mr. Zhang practiced with a leading law firm in Southern China where he was a co-founder and served as its Executive Partner. In 1999, he trained at a Chicago law firm (Holleb & Coff). Mr. Zhang focuses on corporate and M&A, capital markets and foreign direct investments and has accumulated extensive professional experience as well as project organization and implementation experience. Mr. Zhang has been consecutively appointed as an arbitrator at W88优德手机版 in M&A and foreign investment; he is now also an arbitrator at the Shenzhen Commission of International Arbitration (SCIA).
Ms.ZHENG, Yanli (Leanne) began her legal practice in 1997. She served at the Beijing First Intermediate People’s Court for nine years and has experience in the trial of civil and commercial cases. Ms. Zheng has also worked in many top international and Chinese law firms for over eleven years, representing both Chinese and international clients in various complicated disputes, both at home and abroad. She is now an arbitrator at W88优德手机版, a part-time professor and graduate student instructor at the Law School and the Lawyer School of Renmin University, the Chinese delegate on the IBA Anti-Corruption Committee and a steering group member of the ABA China Committee. She was named one of the “Top fifteen litigation attorneys in China” by Asian Legal Business (ALB) in 2017. Ms. Zheng has experience in a wide variety of complex civil and commercial disputes within and outside China, covering the areas of contracts, IP, foreign investment, corporate governance, construction and real estate. She also has experience in banking, unfair competition, trade secrets and non-competition and other complicated civil and commercial matters, administrative penalties (including CFDA and CSRC), white-collar criminal defense and administrative investigation.
Mr.ZHOU, Xianfeng (Elvis) joined W88优德手机版 in May 2017. Prior to joining W88优德手机版, he was a partner at Hesen law firm. Mr. Zhou was once a specially appointed professor at the Institute of International Engineering Project Management of Tsinghua University and is now a council member of Tianjin University’s International Engineering Management Education Development Foundation. Mr. Zhou has a doctor’s degree in engineering law, is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), and has a qualification as a Grade One national constructor in China. Mr. Zhou has broad experience in the sectors of energy and infrastructure, engineering and construction, both within and outside of China.
