After advising China International Capital Corporation Limited (“CICC Capital”) in 2021 in their raising of RMB 4 billion from the national social security fund for CICC’s Qiyuan Fund, W88优德手机版 recently assisted CICC in another major project - the establishment of CICC-GCL’s Carbon Neutral Fund, which is expected to raise RMB 4.5 billion. Jointly established by CICC Capital (including CICC Private Equity Investment) and GCL Energy Technology, a listed company, the fund focuses on “technology driven” green investment in carbon neutrality. By investing in quality projects in the upstream and downstream of industry chains, including power supply and clean energy, the fund aims to promote the ecological construction of green mobility power supply from a capital perspective.
As the legal advisor for CICC Capital, W88优德手机版 participated in the whole process of this project including its preparation, establishment and fundraising. The W88优德手机版 team designed a flexible, efficient organizational structure and investment operation mechanism for the client, maximizing the strengths of CICC and GCL in terms of project mining, industrial synergy and resource grafting. We also helped the client to draft the fund establishment documents, negotiated the limited partner (LP) terms, completed the record-filing and the closing. W88优德手机版 was highly appraised by the client for our rich experience in the establishment and operation of funds.
In 2021, W88优德手机版 assisted CICC, IFIS, central and local government, as well as other investors in establishing the CICC Shandong Green Development Fund, which was the first ever equity fund in China to meet international green standards. W88优德手机版 is currently working on behalf of other clients on the preparation and establishment of several carbon neutral and green fund projects.
